Closed Die Forging & CNC Machining Capabilities

Competent Forging Limited brings closed-die forging, tooling, heat treatment, CNC machining, inspection, testing and surface finishing together for customer-specified industrial components. This page explains the manufacturing processes available for technical enquiries without assuming that every process or certification applies to every product.

For a meaningful review, share the component drawing, material grade, quantity, tolerances, heat-treatment requirement, inspection scope and delivery expectations. You can also review our products and industries or send an RFQ to the manufacturing team.

Closed Die Forging Capabilities

The forging facility uses 1 to 3 tonne drop hammers for closed-die forged components in the currently stated range of 1 to 125 kg. Material groups listed by the company include mild steel, carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel, subject to drawing, grade and application requirements.

  • Billet and material preparation
  • Closed-die forging and trimming
  • In-house dies and tooling support
  • Heat treatment and shot blasting
  • Hardness checks and non-destructive examination support

Send the component drawing, material grade, quantity and required condition so the team can review manufacturability and process routing. Request a forging review.

CNC Machining Capabilities

CNC machining supports dimensional features and finishing requirements after forging or for other suitable industrial components. The final machining route depends on component geometry, size, tolerance, surface-finish requirement and inspection plan.

  • CNC five-axis machining
  • Vertical milling
  • Vertical turning
  • Grinding

Include the finished drawing, critical dimensions and tolerance requirements with your enquiry. Request a CNC machining review.

Testing and Inspection

In-house inspection and testing support helps verify agreed manufacturing requirements before dispatch. The applicable test method, acceptance criteria, sampling plan and documentation should be defined for the specific component rather than assumed from a general capability list.

  • Hydrostatic pressure testing for applicable components
  • Liquid penetrant testing (LPT)
  • Magnetic particle inspection (MPI)
  • Hardness testing
  • Ultrasonic testing (UT)

Review our current certifications and specify the inspection records or certificates required with your order.

Painting and Surface Finishing

The in-house painting booth supports surface preparation and coating for components where painting is part of the agreed specification. Colour, coating system, preparation method and finish requirements should be defined before production.

If your project requires a particular coating system or inspection record, include it in the RFQ so the finishing scope can be reviewed with the rest of the manufacturing route. Discuss painting and surface finishing.

How We Review a Manufacturing RFQ

A capability is useful only when it matches the component drawing and application. The technical review should connect material, forging route, machining, heat treatment, inspection and finishing requirements before quotation and production planning.

1. Drawing & Material Review

Share the drawing or sample, material grade, component weight, required quantity and application. These details establish the starting point for manufacturability review.

2. Forging & Tooling Plan

The team reviews forging feasibility, tooling or die requirements, material preparation and any heat-treatment needs relevant to the requested component.

3. Machining & Tolerance Review

Finished dimensions, critical tolerances, machining allowances and surface requirements are reviewed against the available CNC and finishing processes.

4. Inspection & Finishing Scope

Define NDT, pressure testing, hardness checks, documentation, marking, painting or other finishing requirements before the quotation is finalized.

For product examples, visit Products & Industries. For certification scope, review Certifications, or send your manufacturing RFQ.

Manufacturing Capabilities FAQs

Which manufacturing processes are presented on this page?

The page covers closed-die forging, tooling and heat-treatment support, CNC machining, in-house inspection and testing, and component painting or surface finishing.

What should I send for a technical manufacturing review?

Send the component drawing or sample, material grade, quantity, dimensions, tolerances, heat-treatment requirement, inspection scope, finishing requirement and delivery location where relevant.

Does every listed capability apply to every component?

No. Process suitability, machine limits, inspection methods and certification requirements depend on the specific component and order. Confirm the exact manufacturing and documentation scope with the technical team before placing an order.
